My husband and I moved here nearly nine years ago. We are often asked what brought us out here. In one word GOD. There are several things He worked together to bring us here. We both had a strong draw to Rockies and Cascades. My husband’s comes from being stationed in Spokane while in the Airforce. Mine comes from being born in the Four Corners. Mom and I were only there for a little over a year after I was born but somehow those mountains imprinted. When we went back to live there for a year when I was fifteen I felt it the minute I saw my first rocky leaving the airport. It was like coming home for the first time.
We had talked about moving west often. Then the economy crashed. The Tristate area was hit early and hard after nine eleven. In two thousand and six we lost both of our jobs and could only hold our apartment till January of two thousand seven. We could not find jobs and were facing living out of our car in the new-year. In December my Dad had mentioned that he could help my husband get a job where he worked. Another long lived desire to be close to my little half-sister was the finial draw. We got rid of most of our things. Then packed and stored the rest with family. We stayed with the in-laws for a few weeks while car problems got resolved. Also while we tried to gather enough gas money. God paved the way again. The car was fixed just in time for gas prices to drop dramaticly for the first time since they went through the roof. Through sever snow and ice storms and sleeping in our car with our two dogs. (They were a big help in keeping warm.) We arrived in Vale, Oregon on February ninth two thousand seven.
Though it has not always been easy we have established a new life here and are loving it. We have fallen completely in love with Idaho. Where we now live. I started this blog as a kind of a love story of the Treasure Valley and the surrounding areas.
